Felony Arrests In Nacogdoches County June 29 – July 5

It is hot in Nacogdoches County, Texas. You would think that would put a damper on the amount of crimes being committed, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

When looking at the number of arrests for this week, plenty of people are being arrested on a wide assortment of charges. Most weeks when I put this report together, someone on the list has committed an act against a child.

When one of the pretrial felons is accused of harming a child that typically stands out. Thomas White, 46, was arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault Of A Child, a first-degree felony.

Small Towns In Nacogdoches County Have A Dark Side

White is from Chireno, Texas in Nacogdoches County. This is the second week in a row that someone from a small town in our area has committed a crime against a child.

Last week it was Jonathan Wiley, 31, from Cushing, Texas. He was charged with Indecency With A Child Though Sexual Conduct, a second-degree felony.

Wiley was also charged with the Online Solicitation Of A Minor, a third-degree felony. If either of them are convicted of these crimes the punishments will be severe.

Aggravated Sexual Assault Of A Child Comes With Heavy Minimum Sentences

Though both crimes seem similar the F1 charges against White could come with enhanced penalties. These penalties could come into play if the victim is younger than 6 or under 14 with aggravating factors.

These charges could lead to life without parole. Some charges can be upgraded to "super aggravated" with a 25-year minimum sentence according to versustexas.com.
