Many of us remember growing up and seeing McDonald's in Walmart Super Centers. In my family, one parent would shop while the other distracted my brother and me with chicken nuggets. Over the years, this part of the Walmart experience went away in most locations. Soon, a very popular pizza restaurant is going to be making its way into Texas Walmart stores.

Pizza And Sit Down Dining Coming To Texas Walmart Locations

Never in a million years did I think we would see news of restaurants returning to Walmart stores. The majority of the stores you visit don't have dining options anymore. That is going to change in several places according to recent news reports.

According to those reports, Walmart stores in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Kentucky will soon be getting a Mr. Gatti's. Dining is coming back to Walmart in the form of a Lone Star family favorite. According to reports, the locations will offer pizza, salad, wings, and sandwiches as part of the menu. Supposedly, you'll be able to dine in, order your pizza ahead of time and pick it up when you're done shopping, or even have it delivered.

The Important Question Is Will There Be Games?

The information available at the moment doesn't mention an arcade, games, or a ticket counter. I'm not getting my hopes up for a full-blown arcade or anything like that. It would be nice, however, to have an arcade machine or two just for nostalgia's sake. I loved having pizza and playing Mortal Kombat as a kid. Pizza and arcade games just go together.

The first phase of the new partnership kicks off later this year. The first locations to get a Mr. Gatti's will be in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. From there, they will continue opening a total of 92 locations in Walmart stores.

I thought it was tough getting my kids out of Walmart after Build-A-Bear went in. It's going to be even tougher with Mr. Gatti's.
