A West Texas bar faced backlash online over the weekend for allegedly refusing to play Spanish music.

According to Best of Midland, Rooster's Icehouse in Greenwood—a small town near Midland—is a full-service restaurant and bar with a spacious dance floor for patrons to enjoy during live music performances.

A musician who played a show at Rooster's recently took to Facebook to share an experience that left a bad taste in her mouth.

She claims that despite the bar being "packed with 90% Hispanic folks," the owners immediately instructed her to stop playing Spanish music after she played Cumbia—a popular, dance-friendly Spanish genre—at the request of a guest.

You can find her original post below, shared by The806er. It's clear by the comment section below their post that Rooster's has ruffled some feathers.

According to Census.gov, nearly half of Midland, Texas's population is of Hispanic ethnicity. It's odd for a business to alienate such a large portion of its potential customers by prohibiting Spanish music.

If the encounter was as aggressive as the musician made it sound in her Facebook post, it's not only a racist shame, but it's also just bad business.

Rooster's Icehouse posted on Facebook regarding the situation and it's honestly hard to tell if they are apologizing for what happened or not. I don't know what to think of it. One of the commenters said that this post was made on the page dedicated to their beer and wine store, which is located in front of their bar, and that they took their bar page down.

They could have taken the other page down because of the outrage. Who knows?

Take a look:

I'd love to hear from you. Please drop a comment below this article or email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com. I'd like to hear from customers, employees, and anyone else out there who has something to say about a bar in Texas not allowing Spanish music. It's almost unheard of, and it's giving pretty bad vibes.

Hopefully, there is more to the story.
