HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Three teenage siblings, ages 14, 15, and 16, are accused of attempting to kill their mother after she turned off the Wi-Fi. The kids allegedly coordinated to get back at their mother for disabling the internet.

Deputies responded to a call from the 3400 block of Barkers Crossing Avenue sometime overnight where they found a woman allegedly assaulted by her very own children.

The children allegedly chased their mother through the house with kitchen knives, attempting to stab her. The woman was also hit with a brick by one of the children but was not seriously injured.

The grandmother of the children was present during the altercation and was also knocked over while trying to protect their mother from the attack. She was also reportedly not seriously injured.

Due to the age of the children, their names have not been released to the public. They were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The teens are booked at Harris County Juvenile Detention Center.

I hope this family can get the help they will need to overcome this unimaginable situation.

I have 10 brothers and sisters and I can recall a few of them reacting poorly to having their phones and computers taken away as punishment, but luckily, it was never anything like this. This is something else. It shows just how incredibly addicted our youth have become to the internet. They simply believe they cannot live without 24/7 internet access. They reacted as if they were heavily addicted to drugs and someone came and stole them away. It's scary to think about.

I'd love to hear from you about this situation. Drop me a comment or reach me by email at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com.
