The Fastest Known Speeding Ticket Ever Recorded Was Issued In Texas
Everything is bigger in Texas, and apparently, it's faster too. The fastest speeding ticket on record was actually recorded in May of 2003 in Houston.
Any guesses on how fast they were going? It's pretty insane...
A motorist driving a Koenigsegg CCR Swedish sports car was allegedly clocked at a whopping 242 mph in a 75 mph zone! Insanely fast, y'all. Like. Um. WTF.
You can compare the speed to that of a Peregrine falcon, which according to Smithsonian Magazine, clocks in at 242 miles per hour while diving down for prey. They are also the fastest animal in recorded history, unless, of course, you count the speeder in Houston!
If you're one of those people who can't drive 55 mph, like Sammy Hagar...this is 4.4 times faster than that. Lordy loo!
It's also roughly one and a half times faster than a skydiver falling through the air.
So, if you think you got a pretty bad speeding ticket, at least you didn't get one as bad as this guy. His sportscar was impounded and he spent some time in jail. I bet he didn't mind. He gets to brag for the rest of his life that he went as fast as the fastest animal on earth. Pretty gnarly.
Anyway, watch out for crazy Swedish sports cars on the road, friends. Buckle your seatbelts, and keep scrolling for more interesting Texas-based fun below...
