Texas Based Six Flags Making Major Money Change To Parks- What You Need To Know
Six Flags, the major amusement park franchise that began its thrills and excitement in Texas, is making a major change to how you pay for things inside its facilities.
Six Flags is going cashless- but will Texas guests be less than thrilled by the change?
According to Dallas New, all Six Flags locations, including the ones in Texas, are now cashless but do have a type of reverse ATM onsite if you want to convert your cash to a prepaid debit card.
Will Texans Accept This Cashless Establisment?
Normally, any business going cashless raises an eyebrow for me. I don't love anyone telling me my money isn't any good- and I feel that too many cashless places give banks too much power.
But, setting my tinfoil hat down for a moment, it makes a lot of sense inside an amusement park. Because who on earth wants to handle wet, sweaty cash? And that absolutely happens during a hot Texas summer.
Most Texans I know also have a distrust for cashless establishments, however, the option to buy cards with cash inside the park should mitigate most of the hassle.
Other Six Flags Changes
The new policy coincides with another change to the park, their new chaperone policy for certain age groups. So if you were hesitant to go to the parks because of unattended kids/ teens at night, that will no longer be an issue.
Six Flags is also requiring chaperones for guests 15 years old and under after 4 p.m. The guests will need to be accompanied by an adult 21 years old or older to enter or remain in the park after 4 p.m.
If I was still 15 I would absolutely hate this policy (because my cousin and I were unattended there often), however, as an adult it makes perfect sense to me.
