Spice Up Your Evening: What’s for Dinner in Texas? [GALLERY]
So what's cooking in the Lone Star State? I'm about to show you.
Texas Eats!
You may not think it's that big of a deal, but the food around Texas is special. It seems like you could buy those same ingredients and spices elsewhere and whip up some Texas specialties, but I'm telling you, they just don't taste the same. Also, please don't think this is about our specialties like chicken fried steak or Tex-Mex, this is just what average folks made on an average day and chose to share with us.
The Pix
You're about to see some mouth-watering simple and complex dishes from folks who take dinner time seriously. From barbeque to enchiladas and even sandwiches there's a lot of things represented. I'd have to saw some of those dishes look like they're ready to be displayed on the pages of Southern Living, and/or ready to be served at a neighborhood restaurant.
The Request
So the challenge was "Show Us A Picture Of Something You Cooked". From that simple question we got a slice-of-life look at the skills of some pretty talented home chefs. I have to say, even the sandwich (is that cooking?) looks pretty much like the best sandwich I've ever seen in my life. All of this has left me inspired to up my game. While I'm a pretty good cook, some of these people have taught me a lot about presentation. So, with all of that out of the way, get ready to get hungry, or at least get some ideas for "What's For Dinner?".
