Smalls Sliders Set to Slide Into Lubbock: Texan “Can”-Style Burger Joint Coming Soon
A fresh fast-casual burger concept is headed to town. Smalls Sliders, the cheeseburger slider brand known for its mouthwatering sliders, signature “Smauce,” crispy waffle fries, and playful “can” locations built from bright shipping containers, has announced plans to open in Lubbock as part of its expansion across West Texas, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

With other locations underway in Panhandle/ West Texas towns such as Amarillo, Abilene, and San Angelo, locals are now eager to see when and where this slider joint will drop its first “can” here.
What Is Smalls Sliders & Why It’s Getting Buzz
Small Sliders is a slider burger concept that brings this traditional "bar food" and makes it an everyday accessible option. While you can get a small burger elsewhere, Small Sliders prides itself on using top-quality ingredients.

The menu is simple (almost reminiscent of In-And-Out) with just sliders, waffle fries, shakes, and queso. You can double up your meat on your slider or add bacon.
Sliders come with, "100% beef patty, melted American cheese, pickle and Smauce® on a fresh toasted bun."
The “Cans” Concept: Shipping Container Locations & What That Means for Lubbock
Smalls Sliders uses a modular "can" design that is made of shipping containers and is only 750 square feet, making it easy to put one virtually anywhere. I'm fairly certain I could fit one in my backyard.
This makes the construction of a Smalls very quick and easy for any potential franchisee. The small space is optimized with a "world-class" kitchen design and operations procedure provided by Smalls.
When & Where: Anticipated Opening Timeline and Possible Locations
"Within the next 12 months" is the current time frame expected. Currently, there is no indication of where in Lubbock this could land but I would bet it will either be very close to campus or in very Southwest Lubbock (past 114th street). Those are just wild guesses, I'm excited to see where we get our first one, and I think in a foodie town like Lubbock we may end up with a few.
