‘Miracle Kitten’ Rescued After Being Thrown Out On Lubbock Loop
A little gray and white kitten was rescued after being thrown out of a car onto the Loop in Lubbock. Luckily, Tim Saenz witnessed the event and went back to save the kitty. He posted photos of it online and found a loving home for it with Dustin and Kaytlin Mellenbruch.
I happen to know the Mellenbruchs and this kitty is going to be SO loved!
Kaytlin told me that the kitten has a veterinary appointment on Saturday and then it will be relaxing at home and getting used to its new digs. So far, they aren't sure if it's a boy or a girl, and are waiting until they know before they name it. They've been referring to it as their "Miracle Kitten".
Dustin and Kaytlin recently lost their 14-year-old dog, Bonnie, and they've been pretty devastated. Maybe this miracle kitten is exactly what they need to fill some of the void left by the loss of their pup. You can't ever replace truly replace a pet, but you can always find one that needs the love you still have left to give. This is one lucky kitty.
How someone could throw a kitten out onto Loop 289 is absolutely beyond me. I can't imagine what kind of person could do such a thing, but this isn't the first time it's happened. I actually witnessed a similar event when I was driving with my brother to Estacado for summer school one morning. The vehicle in front of us threw two kittens out on the road. We could not believe what we were seeing. We pulled over and tried to find them, but they had both run away into some bushes.
If you have room in your heart and your home, please go to a local shelter and adopt an animal. Our animal shelters are always full, and you just might find your new best friend! They will pay you back with all of the cuddles, face licks, purrs, and silly shenanigans that you've been missing out on.
