Red Raiders Unveil Striking Uniforms Inspired By Mahomes
The Patrick Mahomes Adidas Tech Football gear has been revealed — and it’s pretty awesome.
Notice how I opened by calling it awesome? There’s no doubt these uniforms are slicker than whale snot. (And if you’re not up to date on whale snot… trust me, it’s slick.)
New Colors for a Familiar Brand
There’s one thing about these Tech uniforms that might feel a bit strange at first. Texas Tech has always been the Red & Black — it’s been ingrained into our brains forever. You see red and black together anywhere, and you think Texas Tech Red Raiders. That’s powerful branding.
But Mahomes is shaking things up again. After last year’s “Galvanized” look, this year’s design brings a white jersey with red, black, and silver accents. They’re undeniably sharp, but it’s a little jarring to see the color palette expand beyond the classic scheme.
Fans Warming to the Change
So far, Lubbock fan reaction has been more positive than last year’s bold experiment. No one’s threatening to stop following the team over uniform tweaks — it’s just strange seeing a brand known for its colors exploring new territory.

The uniforms were unveiled with the tagline “Winter Is Coming — 11.08.25,” which suggests they’ll be one-game-only promotional gear. And honestly, if the Red Raiders post a “W” while wearing them, fans will be just fine with the change.
