Jalapenos To Open Soon In Lubbock
The new restaurant is called Jalapenos, and while information is scarce, I can confirm some things based on what they've posted, and I can relay some rumors as well, but take those with a grain of salt (or a salt rim).

What We Do Know: Jalapenos will have signature cocktails. They've posted some very enticing drinks, including their Piña Caliente, which is " sweet, smoky, a little dangerous, and definitely not your average cocktail." It looks gorgeous, too, and I hope they keep this style of garnish.
They've also posted a picture of a classic margarita in an icy schooner, and I love to see that.
Rumor Patrol
Based on (possibly baseless) comments of Facebook, there seems to be some buzz that this concept is from the folks who brought us El Miote, a popular restaurant that has since closed (now Outlaws). Some other commentators thought it could be the return of El Jalapeno, a restaurant that was located at 5011 I-27. I think the latter is a little less likely, since El Jalapeno closed quite some time ago (but I could be wrong!)
Elevated And Local
That appears to be the case- that we are getting something a little more fancy, but not in the form of a chain. I'm happy to see that. If you are as interested in the progress of this new place as I am, you can follow their Instagram here.
