It's hard to imagine not having your parents around for Christmas morning. I was lucky enough to have both of mine wake me up and lead me to the living room to see what fun things Santa had dropped off overnight. That's not the case for many children in Lubbock.

Right now, you still have the opportunity to add your name to the nice list this year by giving back to kids in the community who need it the most. The Messengers 2024 Annual Tree Run is looking for help to make sure over 40 children are able to get exactly what they've put on their Christmas list.

Santa doesn't care what your parents have done. Santa is for everyone. No child should wake up wondering why there isn't anything under the tree.

A donation can help lessen the pain of missing their folks on what should be the most magical day of the year for a child. You can help make their holiday experience more normal and help keep the spirit of giving alive with your donation.

A few members told me why they do what they do each Christmas season:

"It's good to give kids hope and show them love in sometimes hopeless feeling situations." - Prospect Igor

"We do this to show kids that change is possible." - Taint

"We do it to show them they are not alone." - Prospect Snuggles

Donations will be accepted until November 23rd, 2024 at the Clubhouse at 1701 Baylor. Checks can be made out to "Messengers".

Please help to make this holiday season extra cheery for the boys and girls who are struggling in Lubbock. You'll be happy you did.
