A local Lubbock Brewhouse, with the hilarious tagline, "making Lubbock water drinkable," closed abruptly last week.

Saturday, October 5th was the last day for Frost Brewhouse (3121 34th). The announcement of the closure was made Friday, October 4th, giving fans a narrow window to have one last pint.

Here's the announcement that was made on Facebook and Instagram:

Frost Brewhouse opened in Lubbock in late April 2023.

Frost Brewhouse offered a line of "Perma-Frost" drinks, that is, year-round offerings and seasonal varieties of seltzers and beers, and also carried local wines.

Fans of Frosthouse responded to the news on Facebook with disappointment, but also understanding and well wishes for the owners' future:

Love y’all. You built a great place, and I’m so proud of you. I will always raise a glass to Frost Brewhouse.

You tried it. You were brave and followed the dream. Be proud of that. God will open other doors.

I’m so sorry Kayla and Trevor I know how much this meant to y’all and you worked so hard on it! The beer is amazing.

It has been an incredibly tough year for small, local businesses in Lubbock. Between a massive influx of new restaurants, road construction across town, and a tough economy, many business owners are throwing in the towel.
