Spring Is For Spays: How To Get You Free Spay/ Neuter Voucher This May
Spring is a time of new birth... for better or for worse!
Lubbock has plenty of puppies and kitties to go around, so spaying and neutering your animals is the responsible and kind thing to do. But what if you need a little help to make it happen?
How To Get A Free Spay Or Neuter In Lubbock
This May, the Lubbock Animal Shelter (LAS) is hosting an event during which you could get a free spay or neuter voucher.

The event will be held at the Lubbock Animal Shelter & Adoption Center, located at 3323 SE Loop 289 (not the "old" shelter on Ash), on Monday, May 19th.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. and last until they run out of their 200 vouchers. Any Lubbock resident can get a voucher, but there is a limit of one voucher per household.
What Do I Need To Bring To The Free Lubbock Spay/ Neuter Event?
Bring proof that you live inside the city limits- a driver's license or a utility bill should do the trick. You also must bring the animal you want altered, leashed, or in a carrier.
If you have proof the animal has a rabies vaccination, be sure to bring it; otherwise, the animal must get a vaccination during their surgery, and you will be responsible for that cost.

Also, if your animal is not microchipped, LAS will do so for free when you receive the voucher. The animal must be microchipped for you to receive a voucher.
Remember: Lubbock shelters are absolutely full of cats and dogs that are looking for homes. Even one litter is too much until our shelters are empty. Do the right thing- spay and neuter your pets!
