I’m Convinced This Lubbock Pizza Is The Best On The Planet

Confession: I've never been that big of a pizza person. Sure, I enjoy it while I'm eating it, but I'm usually much more likely to opt for a burger or a burrito. That is, until I met the pizza that won my heart. The pizza I yearn for, the pizza I crave. And thank goodness, it's available here locally in Lubbock, and from a Texas-based mini-chain.

The Stash Is My Favorite Pizza: Here's Where To Get It

You may have thought I was talking about a specific place, but it's even more serious than that; it's a specific menu item that I'm obsessed with: The Stash, which is available at The Pizza Joint (7706 Milwaukee Ave).

The Stash is, "Baked in Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Fresh Tomatoes, Ricotta, and Fresh Mushrooms, on our Roasted Garlic-infused Pierres Red Pizza Sauce." It is a dream combination of both flavors AND textures, and all on a very well-executed crust (a rarity in Lubbock for some reason). While every ingredient works together to make this pie perfect, it's the creamy, dreamy ricotta piped onto each slice that makes this pizza truly special.

The Pizza Joint Has Other Marvels, Too

While I truly feel that The Stash is a must-try, The Pizza Joint has several other unique and exciting menu items. The chicken wings are baked (!!!) and quite large. The salad is way better than your usual iceberg affair that most pizza places offer, and several speciality pizzas are quite excellent, too. I also really like Artie Partie (Baked in Artichokes, Spinach, sundried Tomatoes and Bacon on our Pierres Red Pizza Sauce) and Kicha Rizzo (Roasted Garlic Base, locally made Vegan Red Soyrizo, Artichokes, Red Onions, Roma Tomatoes and Feta) and I'm excited to try more varieties in the future.

The Pizza Joint only has a few locations, having begun business in El Paso, Texas. It's truly special, and I'm so glad we have a location here in Lubbock, because I would plan a road trip around this pizza; it's that good!
