Five-year-old Josiah “JoJo” Williams is back home with his family after surviving a near-fatal gunshot wound to the head in Tyler. More than two months after the May 29 shooting at Victory Park Apartments, Williams is recovering, attending classes and getting back to everyday activities, while his family continues asking for answers in the unsolved shooting.

JoJo Is Finally Back Home

The shooting left JoJo fighting for his life, but his family kept praying for a miracle. More than two months later, Josiah is recovering well, according to KLTV.

Josiah's mother, Ashley Williams, told KLTV that he is "back to being himself, times ten." “He’s running around, he’s talking, he’s wanting to help out, play with his siblings.”

How Josiah Is Recovering

While Josiah is still dealing with some routine doctor's appointments and medications, Josiah seems to be recovering well. He has transitioned off his feeding tube and started classes at Sunshine Pediatrics.

Williams said she never expected her son to become a victim of gun violence. Williams is asking the community to help investigators determine what happened.

Tyler Shooting Remains Unsolved
