There are people right here in the Northwest Louisiana area that really don't stand out much.

They quietly work, without recognition, and simply because of the kindness they exhibit, the world is a better place.

They don't show that compassion for any specific reason, other than that it needs to be done.

Shannon Halbrook is obviously that type person and that's why we're celebrating her as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

We learned of Shannon in this amazing nomination letter from Jayci Adams.

Shannon Halbrook is the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to a stranger without ever expecting a thing in return. Her kindness isn’t just occasional — it’s who she is every single day. When she barely even knew me, she made sure my son had a Christmas. That gesture alone showed her heart, but it’s only one example of what she does for so many others. Shannon quietly helps families she doesn’t even know, offering support, compassion, and generosity without looking for praise or recognition. She does it simply because it’s the right thing to do. Shannon is also an amazing mom who leads by example, teaching her children the power of kindness, humility, and giving. She deserves recognition not just for what she does, but for who she is when nobody’s looking — a truly selfless, genuine, and caring person whose actions make the world better.

Shannon Halbrook, because you've been 'Caught in the Act', John and the gang at the Magnolia Pit have a $50 gift certificate for you to come enjoy a great meal!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Shannon to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
