Saving in 2026? The 10 Items Louisianans Will Never Buy “Off-Brand”
With the New Year staring us in the face, lots of people in Louisiana are considering some life changes for the coming year.

We've decided that we are going to make some changes in 2026, and some of those things are going to people a little painful. Only painful because they are going to require some discipline and a deviation from the known.
Some have decided to eat healthier and/or to exercise more. Some might be striving to quit drinking or to stop smoking. Others have made the decision that this will be the year to focus more on starting a new hobby or to spend more time with family and friends.
However, there is a huge Louisiana crowd dedicated to the financial side of things and have decided that 2026 will be the year to save more and to improve our overall financial conditions.
With that goal in mind, there are a number of concessions we will have to make. Eating out less frequently, taking fewer trips, adjusting the thermostat at home to save on the electric bill, and an overall commitment to cutting corners on pretty much everything we can.
But, there are certain areas where we are just unwilling to make concessions. There are certain things, that regardless of their price, we are just not going to stray from our known brand. These things could include our hairstylist or barber, or even our prescription medications or brand of blue jeans.
And we have identified 10 other things where Louisiana people just refuse to skimp. Take a look and see if there's anything else we should have included.
