Imagine how much of a blessing it must be to not only have a real-life local hero living next door, but that she's also your best friend.

Such is the case for Kaylee Remedes!  Her return to the South Bossier area was blessed with the introduction of Laura Savage.

Just reading the way Kaylee describes Laura, you can feel the real love she has for this incredible woman!

And it's Laura's ministry, her willingness to serve and her commitment to true friendship that we celebrate as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award. Just read the letter from Kaylee, and you'll see why.

When I moved back to SOBO seven years ago I didn't know that God was putting me next door to an amazing woman who became my best friend. Not only is Laura a minister who does a lot of work throughout the community without bating an eye but she is also my rock. This became even more evident over the last 8 months when my son was born. She has always been there to help out where she can when I call her but she has truly showed me what real friendship means. Her weekends are often busy preaching at various elderly communities like The Glen, doing charity work for the church, and keeping her own household running. However, she never misses a beat when I call her to help with me with my little one while my husband is on the rig. A little over a week ago we had a tragedy at our house and I saw instantly how much of a safe place she is for me and my family. A lab puppy we took in tragically killed one of our bunnies in front of my daughter. While I was rushing to put the baby in the car and try to rush the injured bunny to the vet my girls ran next door to Laura's house for comfort. I never told them to go next door but they knew where they needed to be in a horrifying time. It was late on a Sunday night and Laura never batted an eye. She didn't tell them it was too late to come in or complain that they were keeping her up. She simply wrapped them up in hugs and held them while they waited to hear from me. I could go on and on about what an amazing woman she is but we would be here all day. I would like to nominate her for the caught in the act award because not only is she my rock but she gives so much of herself to others through her ministry and never once expects anything in return.

Laura Savage, because you've been 'Caught in the Act', John and the gang at the Magnolia Pit have a $50 gift certificate for you to come enjoy a great meal!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Laura to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
