
Shreveport: 10 Days of Bridge/Ramp Closures Start Friday
The Louisiana Department of Transportation has just announced a series of ramp/bridge closures that will extend approximately ten days.

Through an extensive barrage of notices, DOTD is advising all motorists of these upcoming ramp/bridge closures that will need to occur in an effort to safely conduct inspections of the following:
The first such closure will take place this Friday, June 20, when the I-20 westbound on-ramp from Allen Avenue in Shreveport will be closed from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Next in line will be the closure of the the I-20 eastbound off-ramp to Pete Harris Drive in Shreveport, on Saturday, June 21 from approximately 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Immediately following the inspection of I-20 East to Pete Harris, DOTD will begin the inspection of the I-20 eastbound off-ramp to I-49 southbound in Shreveport. This means that ramp (I-20 EB to I-49 NB) will need to be closed from approximately 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Then, this Sunday, June 22, from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, the I-49 northbound off-ramp to I-20 westbound in Shreveport, will be closed.
As scheduled bridge inspections continue, on Monday, June 23 from approximately 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the LA 173 (Dixie Blanchard Rd.) bridge over Twelve Mile Bayou in Caddo Parish will be reduced to one lane.
Vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller will be able to pass through the bridge inspection zone. All wider vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Next up will be the US 71 (Market St.) southbound bridge over Cross Bayou in Shreveport. To conduct the routing bridge inspection, this will be reduced to one lane from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Vehicles 14 feet wide or smaller will be able to pass through the bridge inspection zone. All wider vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
The next inspection will actually require two days on Thursday, June 26th and Friday, June 27, when the LA 3036 (N. Common St.) bridge over Cross Bayou in Shreveport will be reduced to one lane.
These lane closures are scheduled to take place from approximately 8:00 am to 12:00 pm each day.
Vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller will be able to pass through the bridge inspection zone. All wider vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Inspectors will then move operations on Wednesday, June 25, to the LA 169 bridge over Twelve Mile Bayou near the Town of Mooringsport, where it will be reduced to one lane from approximately 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller will be able to pass through the bridge inspection zone. All wider vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
DOTD says then on Saturday, June 28, the I-20 westbound bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks near the Town of Greenwood in Caddo Parish will be reduced to one lane from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm for inspection of this bridge.
Vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller will be able to pass through the bridge inspection zone. All wider vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Then, the last stop on this round of the LADOTD Bridge Inspection Tour, will be on Sunday, June 29, when the I-20 westbound bridge over Lakeshore Drive and the CPKC Railroad tracks in Shreveport, will be reduced to one lane from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Of course, all these closures are contingent upon weather and any inclement weather could postpone, extend or alter any of the scheduled work days/hours.
