Need to Sight In Your Rifle? The Bossier Sheriff’s Range Has You Covered
As they've done for a number of years, the Bossier Sheriff's Department will once again open the department's rifle range to the public on several days next month so that hunters can sight in their deer rifles.

The range will be open on these dates and times:
- September 6 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
- September 13 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
- September 20 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
The range features 12 shooting lanes with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards.
Sheriff Whittington stated, "Our deputies will be on hand to assist and ensure safety, giving hunters confidence in knowing that their equipment is prepared before they head into the woods. We are happy to provide this service to our community and support our local sportsmen and women."
There is no charge to use the range during these designated sight-in days.
Basic targets will be provided at the range, but shooters will need to bring their own weapons and ammunition, since none will be available at the range. You will also need to bring your own hearing and eye protection.
Basic safety rules will be enforced at all times.
"I am pleased to offer this service to our residents so they can sight in their rifles at our range in a safe environment, especially as we approach hunting season," said Sheriff Whittington.
The rifle range is located just south of the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Academy (formerly North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy) on Old Plain Dealing Road approximately 12 miles from the town of Benton.
Although you do not need to register, you can always contact the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Academy at 965-3525 for more information.
