This is the kind of news that stops every serious watch collector and long-time Shreveport resident in their tracks: Bayou Watch Repair has officially closed its doors for good.

If you've lived in the Ark-La-Tex for any length of time and owned a timepiece, chances are you walked into that small, straightforward shop in the Broadmoor Village Shopping Center and put your trust in the hands of the Knotts family.

For thirty years, Bayou Watch Repair wasn't just a business, it was a true community institution and a rare hub for genuine, old-school expertise. That expertise came from the man at the helm, the late Miron Tyler Knotts. Miron, who sadly passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 72, had dedicated more than four decades of his life to the painstaking craft of watchmaking.

The sudden closure on October 28th is a direct result of the loss of this remarkable craftsman.

Miron had the kind of simple, honest setup that earned immense trust. His skill was so renowned that the local adage was clear: if Miron couldn’t fix your watch, you’d probably be better off sending the timepiece back to the manufacturer, because no one else in the region stood a chance.

Mr.Knotts was known for his precision, his trusty service, and for always being a reliable fixture at his shop on 4430 Youree Drive. It’s a huge, quiet loss for Shreveport and everyone who relied on him to keep their most treasured mechanical and electrical pieces ticking perfectly.

Next Steps for Customers with Items in the Shop

The Knotts family is now managing the final arrangements for the many items left in the shop. If you currently have an item that you need to pick up, please contact the family immediately to arrange retrieval. You can reach them via email at BayouWatch@Outlook.com or by calling 318-393-8067.

We send our deepest condolences to the Knotts family. Miron’s dedication, skill, and presence will be sorely missed by the countless customers and fellow watch enthusiasts he served across the Ark-La-Tex over the years.
