A letter from Ingra Lee to KIXS 108 employees and listeners.

After nearly a decade of hitting the airwaves with you each morning, it’s time for a new chapter. I’ve accepted a full-time position with Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity - an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Helping families build homes and hope is a calling I’m honored to follow.

But leaving radio? That’s not easy. Waking up at 5 a.m. - more like 5:32 a.m. - and working until 5 p.m. has been exhausting, but every minute on-air has been worth it.

To my radio family - thank you.

JP, "Jeeps," my partner in crime on the JP and Ingra Lee Morning Show, you’ve taught me everything I know about radio, laughter, self-deprecating humor and the art of not taking myself too seriously, and that you are terrible at keeping secrets off air!

Also, because this is my final article for KIXS108, I'll admit it, you are not really that bad to work with.

Boss Sauce - who finally got a nickname from me after six years - your leadership and heart are unmatched.

Pooks at Q92, thank you for being my ride-or-die when it came to all things, and especially for always taking my side, even when we both know he was right.

Danielle, Dane, Matthew, and Joey, you are incredible humans who make every conversation about how annoying JP is even better!

I’ll miss the music, the mayhem, especially the listeners who became my morning peeps and constant source of companionship and positivity.

I’ll pop back in when I can, and I’ll always be cheering from the sidelines.

So, my confession is this: although I am leaving the JP and Ingra Lee Morning Show, I am hoping for the best replacement to work my side of the studio. Just know, JP's name will always be first on the marque.

If you love 5 a.m. mornings, dry humor, working with the best people on the planet, if you love laughter, positivity and of course, new country music, you'll be perfect for this gig.

Six years just wasn't enough but I can't wait to see what's in store for all of us in the future!

Good Morning Sunshine loves you!
