Hero Cop In Lubbock? One of the LPD’s Finest Saves A Woman From a Drunk Driver [VIDEO]

I know we on the radio are sarcastic about the police officers here in the 806. Poking a little fun and what not. But not all of the officers on the force are zealots. A woman right here in Lubbock owes her life to a LPD officer named Philip Standefer.

Last week, he showed up after she got into a fender bender.  And while they were standing next to her car, a drunk driver slammed into his police cruiser.

Standefer pushed the woman out of the way right before it happened.  She only ended up with cuts and bruises.  Standefer Was hurt seriously, but he was only in the hospital overnight.
