I am so tired of horror movies that have a kick-ass trailer and that's it. Awesome trailer and a crappy movie. At an average of $50, Movie night is expensive, so when you are disappointed at the theater, it makes you leery to go and spend money the next time. I hope this is not the case with the upcoming film "Mama".

Mama is an upcoming horror film directed by Andres Muschietti from a screenplay by Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Neil Cross. The film has Guillermo del Toro (Don't Be Afraid of the Dark", "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Pacific Rim") serving as it's executive producer. It is based on Muschietti's Spanish-language short film, Mamá (2008) and is scheduled to be released in theaters on January 18, 2013.

Here is the run-down: A couple, Annie and Lucas, are faced with the challenge of raising Lucas' young nieces, who were discovered in a forest after being lost there for five years. Nobody knows how they survived in the forest for that long. It becomes apparent that the girls are being haunted by a ghostly woman they believe to be their mother.
