I don't get out around 93rd and Quaker very often unless I'm heading to Academy or Walmart, but past 82nd Street can be kinda hairy at times.

The City of Lubbock is putting in a new traffic signal at 93rd and Quaker that officially goes live on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

From The City of Lubbock:

For Tuesday:

  • Flashing Yellow for north/south traffic on Quaker Avenue
  • Flashing Red for east/west traffic on 93rd Street

On Wednesday morning, November 1st, the traffic signal will be altered to operate in a typical Green-Yellow-Red mode.

My only question is, why put up a traffic signal five blocks from 98th St.? Seems a little bit redundant to me. But hey, anything in the name of safety.
