A fundraiser lunch is being held Sunday, Oct. 12 by New Vision Ministries for Geronimo Kennedy, a Crosbyton, Texas teen in line for a heart transplant.

Geronimo, now 17, has been fighting the genetic disorder hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), along with Wolff Parkinson White syndrome, for his entire life. In order to have doctors perform the heart transplant surgery, Geronimo and his family will need to move to Houston temporarily.

The fundraiser, which happens 12 to 2 p.m. at 229 South Berkshire Ave. in Crosbyton, Texas, will help cover medical costs and travel expenses associated with Geronimo's heart transplant surgery. The $7 donation includes an enchilada meal with rice and beans.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up in Geronimo's name for people who want to help.
