Khavon Moore came to Texas Tech with a ton of hype. The Red Raiders had just come off of their first Elite 8 ever, but were in need of talent to replace six departing contributors.

They found that talent in a deep recruiting class that featured Deshawn Corperew the top JUCO player from Texas, Kyler Edwards and Khavon Moore who joined Texas Tech as the top rated prospect to ever join the school according to 247sports.com.

Now, just an off-season later, Khavon Moore is in the transfer portal.

Moore struggled to get healthy and ultimately just got into one game as a Red Raider before sitting out the season and applying for a medical redshirt. The Moore news comes just hours after Jarrett Culver announces his decision to go to the NBA.

Khavon let his intentions known on his own twitter account noting that it was not an easy decision and that he had family obligations to take care of closer to home.

The Red Raiders now have 11 scholarship players on the roster. There is a limit of 13 scholarship players per roster, so look for Texas Tech to add at least two more guys to the 2019 signing class.
