Former Red Raider Jahmi’us Ramsey Signs With Roc Nation
Jahmi'us Ramsey was only at Texas Tech a single season and that one season ended with a fizzle, but none the less we all saw the potential that Ramsey has on many Big 12 nights. For his efforts, Ramsey was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-Conference. As a Red Raider he averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
Those stats were good enough for Ramsey to declare for the NBA draft. After a swarm of college players returned after the pandemic ravaged offseason of the NBA a few Red Raider fans expected, or maybe hoped, that Ramsey would return for the stability of Chris Beard's program as opposed to the chaotic nature of the NBA right now.
That wasn't the case and now we've learned that Ramsey has signed with ROC NATION, the entertainment and sports agency owned by Jay-Z, via his twitter feed.
Ramsey isn't the first Red Raider to sign with ROC NATION. Zhaire Smith also signed with the agency before the 2018 NBA draft, though his agent has since left the agency.
Ramsey joins names like Kyrie Irving, Robinson Canoe and Danny Green as a sports client of ROC Nation who also represents Alicia Keys, J. Cole and Shakira in the music industry.
The NBA Draft is set for October 16th with Ramsey being projected anywhere from the middle of the first round to the middle of the second. There will be a draft combine at some point and Ramsey will be invited, but the dates have yet to be released. It makes sense to do the combine in the bubble while the teams and front offices are represented, but what do I know.
