In Canada's first game at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, former Red Raider Janine Beckie scored two goals on route to securing the victory over Chile 2-1.

Beckie was solid for the remainder of the Olympic games, culminating the Canadian women's team winning their first gold medal ever after a thrilling finish against Sweden.

After the match, Beckie celebrated with her Canadian cohorts in the locker room:

Beckie is now a two-time Olympic medalist after being a part of the bronze medalist team in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro.

Beckie played her collegiate career at Texas Tech where the soccer team enjoyed some of its greatest success ever under the leadership of head coach Tom Stone.

"Janine Beckie has put in the work for years," Stone commented on social media. "She has believed and dreamed the day would come for her beloved Canada to stand on top of the Olympic Podium… and today she is living that dream."
