Lubbock Mother Reveals What It’s Like to Have the ‘New Year’ Baby
First Babe of 2019 in Lubbock, Texas
It will always be really easy to remember McClain Dillon Maes' birthday. Why? Because she was the first baby born in Lubbock in 2019 on New Year's Day.
Baby McClain was born at Covenant Children's on January 1st, 2019 at 3:59 a.m. She weighed in at a healthy 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long.
So what's it like for her momma to get that little extra special attention? For Maddie Mae, she's over the moon, even though having a 'New Year' baby came as a complete surprise.
Here's what she told us about the experience:
We are so excited, but we were completely taken by surprise! Our due date was January 10th so we weren’t expecting her to come on New Years Day. We showed up at 1:30am and she was here by 3:59am. I thought for sure someone had already delivered, but we were lucky to be not only the first baby at Covenant but also the first baby girl in Lubbock! We are so blessed and we know that this is just the beginning of the amazing life God has in store for her!
McClain was the first baby of 2019 to be born at Covenant Children's, and the first baby girl born in Lubbock in 2019. The first baby born at UMC and the first baby of 2019 is Roman Pinner.
Congratulations to both families, and good luck!
