A ‘Fast & Furious’ Animated Series Is Racing Onto Netflix
Remember all the talk in the Fast & Furious movies about Dominic Toretto’s cousin Tony? All the characters were always like “Hey Dom, where’s Tony? We love Tony! What’s he up these days?” And Dom would be like “I don’t want to talk about that. Now let’s get back to trying to rob the International Space Station using these custom hot rods.” Those were some great scenes.
Perhaps my memory is slightly askew; maybe I just invented all of that. If that’s the case, then Netflix and DreamWorks TV have created a new character, Dom’s cousin Tony, to be the star of a new animated series coming to Netflix, Fast & Furious: Spy Racers. The first trailer is above. Here is the show’s official synopsis:
Fast & Furious: Spy Racers expands the high-octane action in all-new animated series as teenager Tony Toretto follows in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination. Tim Hedrick (Voltron Legendary Defender) and Bret Haaland (All Hail King Julien) will serve as executive producers and showrunners. The series is also executive produced by Vin Diesel and Chris Morgan; and is slated to debut globally on Netflix later this year.
Vin Diesel and Chris Morgan are executive producers on this series, which will debut on Netflix “later this year” according to the press release.
