The Kansas City Chiefs have had to be in panic mode for the last week after trading away their first round pick to the Seahawks for Frank Clark the developing Tyreek Hill situation developed in to a nuclear situation. The news and suspension from team activities for Hill gave the Chiefs a new need at the top of their board.

A deep threat for Patrick Mahomes.

The first pick of the Chiefs draft tried to adress that hole. Mecole Hardman from the University of Georgia is a 4.3 burner that excelled in the return game at the collegiate level. They don't make guys like Tyreek Hill the football player in a factory, but Hardman is similar to what Hill was. He has been compared to Devin Hester as well, and while Hester never had a solid career as a receiver, he also didn't ever have Patrick Mahomes throwing it 75 yards in the air.

The original biggest needs for the Chiefs in this draft process was secondary and defensive line. They locked that in with the next two picks selecting Juan Thornhill, a DB from Virginia. Thornhill is a safety but he played plenty of corner in college and can be a versatile defender in the new NFL.

With their third selection the Chiefs added beef. The new look defense in 2019 features a scheme change that needs twice as many defensive lineman in the rotation. Saunders will play a hefty role in 2019 as a block eater so the linebackers can roam free and make a few more tackles. He'll also be asked to create some disruptive penetration in the middle of the Spagnuolo defense.

Rashad Fenton is a Training camp body that will come in and compete for snaps at nickel and playing over the slot. He can also earn his way onto the squad via special teams.

If you want to know about Darwin Thompson ask Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells who coached him at Utah State. Thompson had 14 touchdowns and more than 1,000 yards in 2018 and was one of the most productive running backs in the nation. Yes, he's undersized but his 185-pound frame can squat more than 500 pounds.

Offensive line depth is always needed. Stack them up while you can.
