‘Dunkirk’ Trailer Offers First Glimpse of Future Oscar Winner Harry Styles
At long last, the trailer for Christopher Nolan's 2017 movie Dunkirk is here. And with it come a few precious glimpses at Harry Styles, actor extraordinaire, in his very first onscreen role that doesn't involve contracting a fictitious iCarly disease known as "jungle worms."
Styles is only in a few shots in the trailer, but we've compiled them all here -- including one harrowing scene where he appears to be drowning -- for easy viewing.
Dunkirk -- which also stars seasoned professionals Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, and Kenneth Branagh -- is a World War II action-drama that focuses on the evacuation of Dunkirk.
Styles' involvement in the film has been kept largely under wraps, but whispers of a possible foray into acting first rose in volume back in 2015, when an unnamed source claimed the former One Direction star had been looking to break into Hollywood.
“Harry has told his friends that the wants to get into acting. He loves Los Angeles,” the source reportedly told E! News. “Harry has distanced himself from the rest of the band over the last year. He considers himself to be on a different path to the other boys. He certainly has hopes of doing solo stuff, branching out on his own, and so this might be the natural juncture in which to do that.”
Dunkirk hits theaters on July 21, 2017, but you can check out the trailer in the video above in the meantime.
