Demi Lovato has never been one to shy away from speaking out about important issues, and today she's keeping that same energy.

Demi took to her Instagram Story on Friday (Jan. 4) to put Instagram on blast for promoting a game on her feed with "fat shaming" messaging. Demi posted a screenshot of an ad for Game of Sultans from her IG feed, along with the copy, "Why is this fat shaming bullsh-t on my feed? So many things wrong with this ad."

In the screenshot of the sponsored Instagram post, which depicts what appears to be gameplay from Game of Sultans, there is one female character labeled "obese" and another thinner female character next to her labeled "pretty."

"You can be 'pretty' at any weight," Demi wrote in copy on another screenshot, calling out the harmful language and messaging of the game's ad.

In another screenshot of the ad, Demi points out the use of the word "controlled" under the so-called "obese" character.

"This is absolutely harmful to anyone who is easily influenced by societal pressures put on us from the diet culture to constantly be losing weight in a world that teaches us to equate our value and worth with the way we look and especially anyone in recovery from an eating disorder," Demi writes in the IG Story post.

"Especially when eating orders are all about 'control'," Demi notes, with an arrow drawn on the screenshot, pointing directly at the "controlled" language used in the game as it seems to pertain to the character's food.

In a final IG Story post about the problematic ad, Demi pleads with Instagram to be more aware of what they're allowing on their app. "So please Instagram, keep this bullsh-t off mine and other's feeds who could be easily effected by this disgusting advertisement," she writes.

"With how aware people are becoming of mental health and mental illnesses, I expect you guys to know better [than] allowing this advertisement to be allowed on your app. And shame on the game."

Go off, Demi! We love seeing our favorite artists and celebs speaking up about issues that affect all of us in one way or another.

Demi has talked in the past about her own struggles with bi-polar and eating disorders, so it's no surprise triggering visuals like this ad have a big impact on her. Props to her for speaking out about it, using her voice and platform to let it be known why these kind of messages aren't acceptable.
