Coldplay Taking 2013 Off
This is some sad, sad news for Coldplay fans! The band, who has spent a majority of 2012 on the road, decided that they would take it easy next year and take the entire year off! If only we had a job that allowed us to take an entire year off.
The reason for the uber-long vacay? Lead singer Chris Martin and his wife, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, are reportedly moving to Los Angeles full time! Apparently, they’ll need an entire year to settle in. “Chris and Gwyneth have wanted to move to Los Angeles for a while,” said a source to Radar Online. “Gwyneth spends a lot of time between the U.K. and the U.S. and she’s exhausted. The purpose of buying the lavish home in Brentwood was to make that a semi-permanent base.”
The band still has a few dates left in 2012 — their tour comes to an end in Brisbane, Australia Nov. 21 — so if you want to see them before it’s too late, we suggest getting on that ASAP. But, it’s kind of nice that Martin wants to spend time with his wife and two kids, Apple and Moses, and it’s about time the people of L.A. get to see their faces. And Paltrow is probably ecstatic to be close to her mother once again.
“Gwyneth spends a lot of time away from her mum, Blythe, and wants to be closer to her as she gets older,” continued the source. “Chris was very understanding and is willing to give living in Los Angeles a chance because he’s always loved the city.”
