On Monday, June 10, the City of Lubbock and Lubbock ISD will hold a joint active shooter training exercise. According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, this is the second full-scale training exercise the City of LISD have conducted together.

The training exercise will cover all aspects of an active shooter situation including threat assessments to responses by police, fire, and EMS. It will also cover reunification of students and parents. The training will take place at Lubbock High School, Dupre Elementary, the Lubbock ISD Central Office, and the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

The City of Lubbock did not announce the time of the exercise but did say it is expected to be a day-long training.

Citizens will see a heavy police, fire, and EMS presence around the buildings the training is taking place at.
