Christopher “Big Black” Boykin Talks New Season of Fantasy Factory & Partying in Lubbock

Being in radio, I have had the opportunity to meet/interview and party with some big names out there. Godsmack, Nickleback, Rob Zombie, Creed, Saliva, Slipknot, Hinder, Carlos Mencia, Jeff Dunham and George Lopez just to name a few. But the biggest was this afternoon as I caught up with one of my favorites in the MTV family, Christopher "Big Black" Boykin.

We all fell in love with and never missed an episode of "Rob and Big" starring Rob Dyrdek and Christopher "Big Black" Boykin back in 2008. In a skit for DC Shoes, Dyrdek hired Boykin to be a bodyguard in order to protect him from security guards. In 2004, they played their characters again in The DC Video: Deluxe Edition DVD. When MTV saw it in 2005 they knew what they had to do. In November 2006 MTV launched the reality television series Rob & Big on MTV. The rest is history.

The pair did it all in their four years together from setting Guinness World Records together to time traveling, or attempting to anyway. "Rob and Big" ended in 2008 when Big Black left to raise his new born daughter Isis. The episodes are still on everyday on either MTV or MTV2.

In late 2008 when Rob opened the Fantasy Factory we all wondered where Big Black had gone. Finally, four seasons later, Big Black is Back. Check out a few minutes I spent on the phone with Wiggy.

Big Black and I talked everything from raising his child to his new sunglasses line and, of course, the new season of Fantasy Factory on MTV.

"Best ratings the show ever got when I came back," said Big Black.

"This season is going to be a good. Lot of good stuff. Old Rob and Big esc, but we're out of the house. It's the same show but we're at the office. "
