Christina Aguilera Travels In Style to Michael Jackson Tribute Concert
Christina Aguilera performed at a Michael Jackson tribute concert this past weekend in Cardiff, Wales, and her travel arrangements weren’t exactly low-key.
The British tabloid the Daily Mail reported that Aguilera traveled by train from London’s Paddington Station to Cardiff with an entourage of at least 22 people, and her welcoming committee included representatives from the train company and two uniformed British Transport Police officers.
Prior to boarding, Aguilera and her entourage were allowed access to the Queen Victoria Lounge at Paddington Station, which is used by Queen Elizabeth and other members of the Royal Family. The pop star requested that the lounge be decorated with candles and white roses and that chilled champagne be available. She reportedly got the roses and the bubbly, but was refused the candles because of safety concerns.
While in transit, Aguilera and company snacked in style — according to the paper, she requested Belvedere vodka, chilled champagne, bottles of chilled Pinot Grigio, Fiji mineral water flown ten thousand miles from the South Pacific, Fuji apples, unsalted almonds and a pot of pure honey.
She reportedly spent 6,000 pounds (about $9,300) to reserve part of a first-class carriage but did not opt to hire the entire train, which would have cost 25,000 pounds (about $39,000).
A source told the paper that Aguilera did not make any “diva-like demands” of the train staff during the trip — she just enjoyed the view.
