Big Changes Coming to Texas Lottery’s Mega Millions
Get ready to spend more for those Mega Millions lotto tickets.
The Texas Lottery announced changes to the game that went into effect on Saturday.
From the Texas Lottery:
"Starting jackpots for the multi-state game will more than double from the current $15 million to $40 million and the ticket price will increase from $1 to $2 per play. The new game will also feature a new optional $3 wager, Just the Jackpot™, which will allow players to receive two chances to win the game’s grand prize. Just the Jackpot prize wagers are eligible to win the Mega Millions grand prize only and are not eligible to win at other prize levels."
Also, you will pick five numbers from 1 to 70 with the Megaball going from 1 to 25. According to the lottery, the new odds of winning are 1 in 24.
Drawings are twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays at around 10 p.m.
