"Nobody plays Pokemon Go anymore, Chrissy."

That is a damn lie.

My friends and I still have everyone's favorite nerdy app on our phones and we still go out searching Lubbock for great places to play. You can certainly play Pokemon Go anywhere in town, but most players know that the best places to play are areas with popular attractions, whether they be historic markers, universities, or museums. Any place that draws a crowd will also score you some Pokemon, and Lubbock has a couple of stellar locations for maximum Pokemon-age. (Yes. I'm going with that. Pokemon-age)

Anyway, if you were under the impression that people stopped playing, you're very wrong. There are tons of people still playing. I know this because not only have I run into people looking for Pokemon on the Texas Tech campus recently, there's also no shortage of "gifts" in my game's inbox from other players. I even crowdsourced places on my personal Facebook and there was no shortage of response. People clearly still love to play, perhaps even more now after having picked the game back up during isolation in the pandemic.

Here are some great places to get started if you've never played.

If you're a pro, perhaps there's somewhere on this list that you need to revisit. There have been all kinds of fun updates in the game over the past year, and if you haven't logged in lately, do it. Also, if you read this and want to be friends, message me on Facebook. I'm totally game.

Yes, boys and girls, there are many many more awesome places to play, but only so many hours in the day. If you have an awesome spot that you'd like to share, please comment below or on our Facebook page! Happy catching!
