At Long Last, Here is Ariana Grande’s Song About Pete Davidson, ‘pete davidson’
At long last, Ariana Grande's track about her groom-to-be Pete Davidson has dropped with her brand new album Sweetener, and if there are two things that "pete davidson" makes abundantly clear, it's that Grande believes the SNL cast member is her soulmate and that she is very happy.
Like, really, really happy.
The song, a midtempo tune that registers as a cool, grown-up lullaby, clocks in at only 1:14. But, thankfully, it takes less than two minutes for Grande to make her investment in the relationship totally transparent.
"I thought you into my life, woah/
Look at my mind, yeah/
No better place or a time/
Look how they align/
Universe must have my back/
Fell from the sky into my lap/
And I know you know that you're my soulmate and all that/
I’m like ooh, ooh/
My whole life got me ready for you, ooh, ooh/
Got me happy, happy/
I'ma be happy, happy, yeah/
I'ma be happy, happy/
Won’t get no crying from me, yeah/
Gonna be happy, happy/
I'ma be happy, happy/
I'ma be happy, happy, yeah/
Gonna be happy, happy/
I'ma be happy, happy/
I'ma be happy, happy, yeah/
Gonna be happy, happy/
I'ma be happy, happy/
I'ma be happy, happy," she croons with breezy harmonies and across soft string complements.
Ari's initial announcement that she had a song planned about her betrothed didn't sit well with some fans, and she was forced to tell them to chill TF out.
"He's my fiance. This is my album. I'm an honest & emotional artist & human being and if my openness in my work isn't for u, that ok, i won't be offended," she wrote in a series of fan Q&As on Twitter in July. "Still wishing y'all all the love in the world."
Conversely, when one fan gushed about the possibility of the song, Ariana couldn't help but gush, too.
"it's a special song ab the most special human being i've eva met. also the song is sick. thanks for your kindness," she wrote.
