Andy Samberg Set to Host 2015 Emmy Awards
Comedian Andy Samberg will host the 2015 Emmy Awards, and we are super excited.
According to E! News, Andy released a statement about his upcoming hosting gig, saying, "Buckle your seat belts, Emmy viewers! Like, in general you should buckle your seat belts in your car. In fact, even if you're not an Emmy viewer, you should buckle your seat belt. It can be dangerous on the road. Also, if you're not an Emmy viewer, you should strongly consider becoming one this year, because I'm hosting, and it's gonna be a wild ride. So buckle your seat belts."
If his hosting winds up being half as entertaining as, well, any of his other projects, we're definitely in for an amazing show. Andy even has an Emmy of his own, winning one for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics along with Justin Timberlake for their now-iconic Saturday Night Live skit "D---- in a Box." If you're one of the seven people left on this planet who has yet to see the skit, you can check it out on YouTube.
Andy and his comedy group, the Lonely Island, recently performed their hit collaborative effort "Everything is Awesome," which was featured in The Lego Movie, at the 2015 Oscars along with Tegan and Sara. The performance was a huge hit and featured a slew of other celebrities, like Oprah, Will Arnett, DJ Questlove and more.
The 67th Emmy Awards are set to air on Sept. 20 on Fox, so the show is still pretty far away (six whole months!), but we're already counting down the days.
