The Empire State Building put on a star studded light show on Monday night, with a  little help from Alicia  Keys. The Grammy winner flipped the switch on the Manhattan skyscraper's new LED tower light display. The event was also synchronized with the playing of her tunes "Girl on Fire" and "Empire State of Mind."

"The Empire State Building has always been a symbol of what's possible in New  York, and all the dreams that can come true in this city that never sleeps,"  Keys said in a statement. "I'm so excited to unveil the new tower lights that  are going to illuminate the city below like never before—shining bright with  inspiration. As a proud New Yorker, I'm so honored and humbled to be a little  part of its history."

As Alicia flipped the switch the show began and the songs were simulcast on a bunch of radio stations all over the city.
