I like beer.

A lot.

Heck, I even have a piece of custom art on my office wall that was created using beer advertisements.

One worry that I had when I made West Texas my home, was that Lubbock was going to be living in the dark ages when it came to great craft beer. That we were going to be stuck in a Shiner Bock and Lone Star Beer circle of creativity. However, as Lubbock is a college town, that usually lends itself to creative types who have a shared love of science and getting hammered. Happily, I can report that we are not a desert of flat, flavorless, fizzy fermentation.

In fact, one Lubbock brewery is making a strong run at being considered the Best Brewpub in America.

The Brewery LBK, located at 1204 Broadway Street in Lubbock,  currently sits on top of the leaderboard, as recognized by USA Today's 10Best. against some very formidable competition, including destinations like Sierra Nevada Brewing's new brewpub in Asheville, NC.
