So by now, I'm sure you heard about yesterday's car chase that ended with an SUV crashing into a Central Lubbock home.

It's the way the story has gone to this point which baffles me.

The driver of the SUV, an unidentified woman, paid 31-year-old Matthew Lott counterfeit money for a phone he was selling. When Lott figured it out, he chased her down. The unidentified woman ran her car into a house.

But only Lott goes to jail.

WHAT?!?!?!

The unidentified woman gets away scot-free?

That makes no sense whatsoever. She stole from him, yet he is the only one going to jail.

Is what Lott did reckless? Yes, of course -- no doubt about it.

Does he deserve some level of punishment for this? Sure, he does.

But didn't the "unidentified woman" deserve to be hauled off as well for theft and passing and possessing counterfeit currency. Ummm, YES!

Two wrongs don't make a right, folks.

According to our friends at Everything Lubbock, more arrests and charges are possible. OK, but against who? Lott? The unidentified thief? We don't know.

Of course, we're only hearing one side of the story, but my guess is Lott will be in more trouble, while this unidentified thief will play the victim card and claim ignorance.

Come on, folks -- take responsibility for your own actions.
