A Focus on Nutrition and Coffee: We Visit Lubbock’s Healthy Essentials
Taking a good look at nutrition, we found great stuff at Lubbock's locally-owned Healthy Essentials, located at 8008 Abbeville Avenue.
This wonderful hidden gem is tucked in just off 82nd Street near Slide Road, and it was great to see that they have indoor seating open. They also have a drive-thru and curbside service if you prefer.
But if you're looking for a great little coffee spot, with an exciting menu and plenty of nutritional smoothies they've got you covered.
We spoke with Aidan Sisco, who wears many hats in the kitchen for his parent's eatery.
"We have a lot of people putting Vitamin Cs and like multivitamins in their smoothies to boost their immunity, and boost their health...that's kinda is an extra boost to your day," he told us.
Their website boasts grass-fed meat, organic, paleo, or gluten-free options. Plus, they sell some pretty serious vitamins to buy or mix into your smoothie.
The short version of their offerings that they share on their website is simply:
We are a complete nutrition store that whips up amazing smoothies, sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps, and also serves organic coffee and teas.
We found this and much, much more.
They open at 7 a.m. and you can drive-thru or sit down for something incredibly healthy with eggs in a wrap, a bagel, a power-packed bowl of oatmeal, plus organic coffee, teas and, of courses, smoothies.
All your favorite coffee drinks are here as well, from a caramel macchiato to cafe mocha and more.
Smoothies are decadent, whipped up with acai, pom berries, blue mango, peach, pineapple, and much more. Then, they can add in your daily vitamins. It's that extra vitamin C everyone is asking for these days.
Whether it's soup, salad, a sandwich, eggs, or a cool paleo or gluten-free meal you're craving, the eatery has it covered and beyond. So while we're all focused on getting healthier, you may want to keep Healthy Essentials on your radar.
