For the cool kids Takeru Kobayashi is a house-hold name. He is the 150 pound pride of Nagano, Japan and Hot Dog Eating Champion of the World. Actually he holds many competitive eating titles and four Guinness records for meatballs, hamburgers, pasta and of course, hot dogs.
Kobayashi visited Puerto Rico in a special appearance for Taco Bell's Why Pay More Challenge, eating 64 tacos in 15 minutes for a local charity. Kobayashi went on The Wendy Williams Show to set the record for eating the most Twinkies in one minute, for the "Save The Twinkie" campaign, and set a new world record of 14 Twinkies.

Kobayashi set the new Wing Bowl record for eating chicken wings at Wing Bowl XX, held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. His total was 337 wings in his first competition in that event, yes 337!

After losing the last two years at the Annual Nathan's Hot Dog World Championships held every year at Coney Island, Kobayashi competed on the rooftop of a Manhattan bar simultaneously with the Nathan's Contest at Coney Island via a live video simulcast of the event. Kobayashi finished 69 hot dogs, one more than the officially recognized world record.

I guess the world of competitive eating must be in their off season because just for fun, Takeru decided to eat some Easter candy. And as always he really did eat. How about one of the worst Easter candies of all time. Peeps? Yuck! Check this out:

You know that all the Easter candy is on sale right now. Try picking up some Peeps on the cheap and see if you can even come close to the record. Don't forget to get it on film and sent to us.
