Zendaya tends to voice her opinion on social ills and this week is no different. The 19-year-old singer-actress is sounding off on photo retouching gone too wrong -- and using herself as the example.

The K.C. Undercover star, who's figure was recently made into a Barbie doll, was "shocked" when she saw that her hips and waist had been severely slimmed down in photos for her Modeliste Magazine cover feature.

Although the fashion magazine has since removed the photos to replace them with images showcasing Zendaya's actual body type, she went to Instagram to expose the "manipulated" shoot and share unaltered photos.

"Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19 year old hips and torso quite manipulated," she wrote in a post on Instagram that shows the difference between the two photos. "These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have."

The Disney Channel entertainer also stated that she's sharing the comparison shots because she stands for "honest and pure self love." And it seems her message was well-received since fans are raving over her inspiring move.

"The original looks so much better! You are such a natural beauty and an inspiration!" wrote one Instagram user. "This is exactly why you will always be loved . Positive vibes only," wrote another.

Although Zendaya does look a shade lighter in the right photo -- which has also been the subject of scandal before with other celebrities -- it seems the actress is taking it one battle at a time.
