Tuesday evening (Aug 1), officers in Hobbs, New Mexico arrested a woman under the influence of narcotics.

KAMC News reports a traffic stop was conducted and the woman driving the car, 25-year-old Raquel Hernandez, was suspected of being under the influence. Police conducted a sobriety test and confirmed their suspicions.

Inside the vehicle with Hernandez was a 5-year-old child.

Officers searched the vehicle and found marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a switch blade, and a half-empty bottle of vodka. During the search, police also discovered that Hernandez had a warrant for her arrest.

Hernandez was arrested and transported to the Hobbs City Jail.

The child was released to the father who responded to the traffic stop.
